morgens noch kurz bei K7NV Kurt gewesen. Wir haben uns zum Lunch mit ein paar anderen DXern aus der Umgebung im Applebees verabredet.

When we met at the restaurant, I said to W7CY, well I have seen you on a picture a while ago. Didn't know where. He said he wrote some articles about yagis and rotators and I thought I have read one of those. After a while I asked him, if he ever was in Moscow. He said yes, he was. I told him that must have been in 1992. He said, yes, thats correct ! He visited UA3AB and others and I visited UV3DPP now RK3DT/XV3DT and we all met then for dinner at UA3DPX see the next pictures to compare. I remembered him because I scanned the old pictures from 1992 in December 2006, so just a few weeks before this westcoast holiday.

He and I couldn't beleive that we met again by chance after 15 years !!!!!!!

after dinner we drove back to Lake Tahoe because on our way to Carson when we drove by Lake Tahoe it was already dark.

We couldn't miss this scenic view, could we ?

but also we had to visit W7CY at his QTH, He already has informed his wife to tell about the story.

we looked up my website and he could see the pictures from 1992 :-)

his QTH is on a hilltop location in the middle of the valley. overlooking everything exept the high mountains at the horizon.

we could see wild horses from a room upstairs where one has the most beautiful overlook of the valley.

no neighbours and the hill gives some more effective high for the yagis

look the scenery !

further on we had ice and snow storms and we had no 4x4 nor snow chains.

we had to go 5miles over a pass where it was usually not allowed to go without 4x4 or snowchains. or we could return 15miles to the last hotel.

we went ahead and reached Lee Vining.
